Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale has said a lot that had been lost following the Garissa University College terrorist attack has been restored.

Although he did not elaborate exactly what has been restored, the Garissa Township MP said peace now prevails in Garissa County, and called on Kenyans to feel free to visit he far-flung county.

He was speaking at Garissa University College on Sunday during celebrations to commemorate the attack that left 148 people dead.

"As we commemorate the second anniversary of Garissa University attack, Allah has been faithful since he has restored a lot that was lost," Duale said during the event.

148 people, mostly student, were killed during the assault by al-Shabaab militants.

The armed attackers in the morning of April 2, 2015 stormed the institition, killing two security guardsat the main gate before firing indiscriminately at students.

It was Kenya's deadliest attack by the Islamic fundamentalist group based in Somalia.
