National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale has assured President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto that all the pastoralist counties in the nation are backing their re-election.

Speaking to residents of Garissa Town, Duale said that Tana River, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo and Marsabit counties are strongly behind Jubilee because of the great performance scoreboard of the current government.

The outspoken leader cited infrastructure, jobs and fight against the ongoing drought as some of the reasons why these counties will vote for current government when that time comes.

He urged the opposition to accept defeat early enough since they do not have the numbers to take them to power during the up coming general polls.

“The opposition has been lying to Kenyans that it has the numbers, but I fail to understand which numbers they are talking about, while the IEBC has released figures that favour us,” he said, as the Star quoted.

Duale has affirmed that he will woo the region to back President Kenyatta in order to continue reaping the fruits of development as they residents have done during the current leaders.

His remarks come a few weeks after he exchanged bitter words with Cord leader Raila Odinga, when that latter claimed that he had raised him from a nobody.
