Applied and Academic Communication Practitioners have compiled a list of worst and best Kenyan communicators in 2016.
According to the Daily Nation, Leader of Majority in Parliament Aden Duale and former ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba give divisive and incredible speeches respectively.
Credibility was the main basis used to gauge one’s communication prowess. The research was led by a communication practitioner and speech couch Mr Paul Achar, Impact Africa CEO Kentice Tikolo, Lead CEO Wangui Koigi, Aga Khan lecturer Dr. Sam Kamau, Mr. Mukurima Muruiki and the online Nation Media research team.
The findings ranked Garissa Township MP Aden Duale among the worst communicators in 2016. Duale has over 3,000 stories that are linked to him published by media gurus.
The vibrant politician’s publications reached over half a billion people worldwide. However, 33.34 per cent of Duale’s posts on social media received negative comments like insensitive, arrogant and divisive.
Only 16.65 per cent comments were positive while 50.01 were neutral comments. His Budalangi counterpart Ababu Namwamba was rated as someone who gives incoherent narratives.
His maiden days in politics were awesome but the dismissal from PAC revealed Ababu’s communication barriers. His shortcomings were further stripped naked when he lost his position as ODM’s Secretary General.
