National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has asked Inspector General of Police (IG) to enhance his security after his bodyguard was wounded by a gang in Nairobi's Eastleigh Estate on Monday evening.

The Garissa Township MP has confirmed the incident saying Abdi Maalim was hospitalised but is in stable condition.

"One of my bodyguards was attacked around 6pm on Monday, his gun stolen and was shot at his foot. The incident occured along General Waruinge Road and I immediately reported the incident to the police," said Duale.

The MP says his life is in danger and said those behind the attack should be brought to book. Investigations have been launched to pursue the attackers.
