Speaking in a fund raiser at Maili Tatu Grounds, Meru County where he had gone to represent Deputy President William Ruto who is away in Canada on official duty, Duale told off Raila for meddling with Jubilee Party affairs terming him as an ordinary citizen who has nothing to show.

“Raila has nothing of his own, he is just an ordinary old man just like these Njuri Ncheke elders,“ he said.

This, however was not well received after a large number of those who had attended the meeting as they started booing him, while others walked out of the meeting.

The meeting was hosted by Meru leaders among them Igembe Central MP Kubai kiringo, his Igembe south counterpart Mithika Linturi and women representative Florence Kajuju.

The angry residents also demanded to know the whereabouts of Sh1b that had been given by President Uhuru Kenyatta to the region's Miraa farmers.

Peter Murithi, a Maua resident felt that Duale's sentiments lacked morality and there was need for him to apologize.

“Have you ever seen any Meru Leader hurling insults at other communities’ elders? If not then, we are either cursed or smitten with stupidity. The statement by Duale on Raila and Njuri Ncheke is disrespectful and by that he needs to apologize to the whole meru community “ he Said.
