Duale, who was speaking in Garissa town on Wednesday, said that virtually all the key departments especially water and health were the ones performing poorly due to what he termed as the mismanagement and also the embezzlement of the public funds from the national government.

“When we were passing the constitution, we all thought that our people were the ones who were going to benefit after very long years of having been marginalized. Years after the constitution coming into action, we have nothing under our devolved system since the much needed funds are going to very greedy and self centered individuals,” said Duale.

Duale went on to say that residents from Garissa County lack almost all the essential services like drugs in hospitals and also water.

“What is the work of all the leaders whom you elected if essential goods such as water and drugs cannot be provided to the people who gave you work,” added Duale.

Duale accused the leaders of fighting for their own needs first, instead of putting the interests of common mwananchi first.

“We are being unfair to the people who elected us since we are not providing them with all the basic needs that we promised them. We as leaders should come together and ensure that the residents of this county have all their requirements without any hardship,” he noted.
