The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale on Wednesday criticised a petition by Mandera North MP Bashir Abdulahi seeking to impeach Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki.
The petition cites misuse of public funds, abuse of office and arrogance by the CS as grounds for the impeachment.
According to Duale, the motion by the Mandera North legislator is immature and does not meet various constitutional requirements.
"The motion by honourable Bashir, Mandera North in my view is worse than that of the inexperienced advocate who purported to ask the parliament to remove the Judicial Service Commission in a pedestrian manner. In fact this new motion is immature," Duale posted on his official twitter handle.
So far, about 170 members of parliament have signed the petition to impeach the health Cabinet Secretary.
Duale, however, argues that the petition is yet to meet the constitutional threshold, since it does not indicate the sections of the constitution being alleged to have been violated.
"The motion does not even meet any of these requirements! I doubt he is serious," Duale posted.
