Garissa township legislator and the National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale has criticized Wetangula's Ford Kenya Party, saying the party is a Bukusu thing that lacks national outlook.
Appearing on a local television show on Tuesday evening, Duale technically took a swipe at Wetangula, evidently confirming the Orange Democratic Movement’s earlier assertion that Wetangula has a limited chance of getting crowned the opposition CORD candidature to battle Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee party.
The vibrant Jubilee legislator further issued that Wetangula’s Ford K party has no clout, leave alone not being a wholly Bukusu party.
“If you keenly look at the Ford Kenya of Senator Wetangula, it is not even entirely popular in Western Kenya, it is just but a Bukusu party,” Duale stated.
Duale also noted that the other parties in the opposition are regional parties, referring to Kalonzo's Wiper is an Ukambani thing while ODM party is a preserve for the Luo Nyanza people.
Duale’s belittling sentiments come at a very time when Odinga’s ODM has maintained that the former Prime Minister is the only candidate that stands a better chance of representing the CORD opposition in the 2017 elections.
