National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has expressed optimism that IEBC Chair nominee Wafula Chebukati can deliver credible elections if accorded necessary support.
Speaking on Tuesday during the National Assembly's special sitting, the Garissa Township legislator further urged the new IEBC team to embrace team work to ensure free, fair and transparent polls slated for August 8.
"My advice to Chebukati and his team you should not be blackmailed, intimidated and coerced by any political entity or individual," he said.
"The lives of 40 million Kenyans will be on his hands, he must be a man of God, have the courage, must be firm, committed and very decisive in whatever decision centered on teamwork," he added.
The Chebukati team approved by the National Assembly is set to replace the former IEBC commissioners led by Isaack Hassan.
