National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has said he has been at the Internationa Criminal Court (ICC) several times and thus he is not afraid of the court.
Duale was responding to Wiper Party Kalonzo Musyoka, who had threatened to write to the Hague-based court in regards to his alleged hate speech remarks.
This comes following the release of the audio clip doing rounds on social media, where a person said to be Duale, is heard inciting youth in Garissa against Kambas and Wiper Party supporters in the region.
Kalonzo said Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) would ask the international court to intervene if local government agencies fail to prosecute Duale.
Speaking during former nominated MP Mark Too's funeral in Eldoret, the Garissa Town MP said he would not be intimidated by people who want to take the country back to the court.
"We will not be intimidated by people who want to take us back there. I have walked the international court's 39 times and I know ICC in and out... I know the law and the prosecutors,” he said, as quoted by The Star.
Duale said the audio tape was fabricated by his enemies to tarnish his name, adding that he had already recorded a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
"They went out and made a clip to use against me," he said.
