Garissa Township MP and National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, has defended Garissa governor Ali Korane against reports that he has 'fake' papers from the University of Nairobi.
According to Duale, Korane's academic credentials date way back when he was still a student at Garissa High school all through to UoN.
On a tweet on Saturday, Duale further reiterated that the matter will be looked into and the 'devil' unmasked in the whole allegations.
"Korane's academic credentials date back during his days at Garissa High, from universities in U.K., prestigious Kenya defense college in MBA ( UON). We shall unmask the devil soon," tweeted Duale.
Korane found himself in a tight spot after the university disowned his master's degree which he (Korane) claims he got from the institution in 2011.
“This is to state that Mr. Korane Ali Bunow is not a graduate of the degree of Masters of Business Administration of this university on December 2, 2011. The copy of the certificate is not genuine and was not issued by this university,” read a statement from the university's registrar of academics seen by the Nation.
On Friday, Korane rubbished the claims and maintained that he had actually graduated from the institution in the said year. He also pointed out that his legal team has written to UoN over the same.
“I do not know why they were inquiring about my academic qualifications but my lawyers have written to the institution over the matter,” Korane remarked during an interview with the Nation.
