National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has called on the Director of Prosecutions and the Director of Criminal Investigations Department to stop their probe on NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga for allegedly making inflammatory remarks.
Jubilee Party has been leading an onslaught against the former Prime Minister, accusing him of dividing the country on tribal lines.
But speaking over the weekend, the Garissa Township MP noted that Raila Odinga should not be investigated, describing him as "a national leader."
He, however, called on Mr Odinga to apologise publicly to Kenyans.
“It is a waste of time for the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and Office of Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to initiate investigation against Mr Odinga," he said.
“He is a presidential candidate and respected leader so what we are demanding from him is a public apology,” he added.
