National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale said politicians defecting to the National Super Alliance (NASA) will not help the opposition alliance in its bid to dislodge Jubilee administration from power.
Duale took a swipe at NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga telling him that those who are shifting to his camp ahead of polls are political rejects who have no support in their backyards.
“I want to tell Raila that receiving defectors and political rejects won’t help NASA in any way. Do not look for excuses but tell Kenyans what you have for them,” said Duale on Monday during a rally in his Garissa Township constituency.
On Monday, the ODM leader received 13 defectors, mostly sitting MCAs and aspirants, from his rival President Uhuru Kenyatta's backyard of Kiambu County.
Duale laughed off the move saying Raila is 'desperate' as he has sensed defeat ahead of next month's general elections. The opposition leader is expected to lead his brigade in the hunt for votes in Kiambu, Murang'a and Nyeri counties, regions that voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta almost to the last man in 2013 polls.
