National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has dismissed an audio clip doing rounds on social media spreading hate remarks against the Kamba Community.
In the two-minute audio clip, the speaker is heard calling on youths to drive away Kambas living in Garissa County not to register as voters in the area.
But speaking to the Star newspaper on Thursday, the Garissa Township MP disowned the audio clip, describing it as "a baseless propaganda that cannot be proven".
"In my opinion it is concocted propaganda (the audio clip) and corrupted," an agitated Duale said.
"You have somebody who said he was there with me... It is corrupted... It is not even audible. All of my functions are on my Facebook page. Let someone come and tell me I was there and that I am the owner of this tape," he added.
Social media users have since demanded for the arrest of the legislator.
