National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has challenged Opposition alliance NASA leaders to support ODM Party leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid.
Speaking when he introduced debate on the President’s State of the Nation address, the Garissa Township MP wittily argued that the former Prime Minister stood a better chance, adding that Mr Odinga has all it takes to fly NASA's presidential flag.
“I humbly ask, don’t take us round, don’t call too many press conferences, we know who among the pack who is ahead, I have worked with him, he has the numbers, he has the resources, he has the think tank, he has been tested, he has been the Prime Minister, give it to Raila Odinga,” Capital FM quoted him.
He further noted that Jubilee Party was ready to face off with whichever candidate the Opposition would field.
“We have our candidate Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. We have our party, the Jubilee Party. We have our scorecard. We are ready; the referee is ready… we are humbly asking our competitors, we are in the field; we are ready… the crowd has filled the stadium only the other side is not present," he stated.
Among those gunning for the NASA Presidential ticket include: Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya).
The outfit is yet to settle on a presidential flag bearer, with pollsters indicating that Raila Odinga is the most preferred candidate among Kenyans.
