National Assembly Majority leader Adan Duale now claims that opposition party Orange Democratic Party (ODM) is planning to scuttle unity deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking at his Garissa Township Constituency on Thursday, Duale stated that ODM Leaders should support Raila Odinga as he engages President Kenyatta.
He said when NASA leader met with President Uhuru he was of the opinion that he wanted reconciliation and better future for Kenyans but he cited recent push by ODM as derailing the recent handshake.
“As jubilee from Deputy President to all members we are bound to a bid by what President speak and any decision made we have to follow,” Said Duale.Duale’s sentiments come after Siaya Senator James Orengo called for the cancellation of the deal over the treatment of lawyer Miguna Miguna.
According to Orengo, the government had disrespected court orders calling for the release of Miguna. Miguna was later deported again after he refused to produce his Canadian passport for stamping at JKIA Nairobi.
