The fight between Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama and Garissa Town MP Aden Duale over of a multi-million project is far from over.
Speaking in Garissa town on Monday, Duale said that the Sh 400 million Bula Argi Giraffe Sanctuary is a total waste of tax payers’ money and a public relation exercise.
"Governor Jama should be more focused on ensuring that the infrastructure in Garissa County is improved and there is water in the county instead of fencing the 500 acre piece of land and putting up a modern tourist’s hotel," Duale said.
Duale urged all the leaders in Garissa to oppose the giraffe project saying that there were other important projects which have stalled due to lack of funds.
"The governor should ensure that all the other projects which are prioritised are first completed before wasting millions of shillings on the giraffe project which will add no value to the people of Garissa," Duale said.
The combative national assembly majority leader however clarified that he is in good terms with the governor but whenever he goes wrong, he will always correct him for the better of the county.
