Garissa Township legislator Aden Duale has once again lashed at the Teachers Service commission for what he termed as insensitivity and ignoring the constitutional rights of North Eastern kids.
Speaking on Saturday while presiding over on the 9th Annual prize giving ceremony for Ansaaru Sunna Trust at Sir Ali Muslim Club Park Road, the legislator called on the commission's Chairperson Ms. Nancy Macharia to reconsider the decision to transfer teachers from the region.
"What the TSC is doing is against the constitutional rights of the children of North Eastern region, they deserve to be taught like other Kenyan children. Nancy Macharia should reconsider the decision to transfer teachers from the region," said Duale.
The legislator's sentiments come just a week after a tragic Alshabaab attack where two teachers and a civilian were attacked in cold blood. The attack has since heightened tension in the region with non-local professionals in the volatile region fleeing for fear of being attacked.
