Garissa Township Aden Duale on Sunday evening hosted Uwezo fund group members that comprised youths, women and people with disabilities for dinner.
Speaking during the meeting, Duale thanked the group for accepting to form the Garissa Township Uwezo Sacco which will act as a financial institution to offer affordable loans to members.
The MP, however, asked the Women and Youth Enterprise Funds to conduct member training and also disburse sufficient resources to the group within the next three months so as to strengthen their financial standing to improve and expand local business.
He further offered to help the group link with the JOYWO women group founded by Rachel Ruto, who is the DP's wife.
"I intend to do a vibrant fundraising exercise at the end of the year so as to increase the group's financial stability and eventually create more jobs for our Garissa people. My leadership largely supports hardworking and resilient youth leaders, because they are the people to transform the society," affirmed Duale.
He further thanked the Garissa Township together with Uwezo fund officials for prioritizing transparency in the management of devolved funds.
