Mr. Atwoli was reacting to the 2018 Miscellaneous Amendment Bill which he claimed was meant to change laws on matters to do with strike and NSSF.

Mr. Atwoli urged Duale to go read well article 41 on CBA which he claims state very well the rights of workers which can not be done away with by mere amendment of existing laws.

He, therefore, asked the Garisa legislator to call for a referendum if he wants to get rid of strikes in the country.

"Let him go read article 41 of the constitution on CBA. If he wants to get rid of strikes in Kenya let him call for a referendum. Tell him whoever sent him should respect workers of this country," said Mr. Atwoli.

The COTU boss urged youthful members in parliament not to support Duale as this will come back to haunt them when they are out of office.

He was, however, suspicious that the bill might sail through due to the high numbers of MPs  Duale commands in parliament. Nevertheless, he promised to appeal if at all the bill will be passed by the MPs.

"I urge those youthful MPs not to support Duale in parliament to change laws on matters to do with strikes and NSSF.

"It will pass because they have money and majority but we will appeal," he added.

Mr. Atwoli promised to move the matter up to the supreme court in case it fails in the court of appeal.
