Garissa Township MP Aden Duale toured the 1.8km Dekabury Road construction from the Kismayu Road along the airport boundary on Wednesday.
Accompanied by local leaders, the MP said they had secured extra funding of an extension of another 1.8km of the road to Iftin Girls Secondary School.
Duale also inspected the 1km Bulla-Iftin Link Road with community leaders, where he instructed Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) engineers to improve the accessibility of the feeder roads to murray standard.
The National Assembly Majority Leader pledged that several roads in the constituency would be launched mid January, which include: tarmacking from Young Muslim to Boralgy Centre (8km); tarmacking of County High Road from Kismayu Road to Bulla Baashal; and tarmacking of Kismayu Road to Mnara to the airport boundary,
"In the last 4 years, Garissa Township Constituency has benefited from the national government serious road and energy infrastructure programmes,'' said Duale.
He added that the Constituency had benefited from tarmacking of roads, connection to affordable and accessible electricity to the residents through the Last Mile Programme, improvement of the sewage systems and rain water storm infrastructure upgrading.
