A section of political leaders in Garissa, led by Garissa Township MP Aden Duale met at Mbalambala town and launched campaign for Abdi Omar Shurie as the nominee for Member of Parliament, Mbalambala Constituency.
The Abdwak Community leadership held a mammoth rally led by eminent personalities such as: Rtd General Mohamed, Mzee MK Roble, Sultan Dekow, political leaders, professionals and elders representing all the sub-clans including youths and women.
The rally was a follow-up on the political decision the community decided in selecting the Jubilee flag bearers of various political seats in Garissa County for the August general elections.
Key leaders both from the national, county, constituency levels and the community unanimously endorsed Shurie's candidature.
The gubernatorial nominee, Ali Korane and Garissa Women Representative Anab Subow Gure were also introduced to the residents.
In the 10th parliament, Duale served the people of Mbalambala as the MP for Dujis.
"It's with no doubt that my track record speaks for it self and if history of leadership is written, my space will be fundamental. During my reign, the new Mbalambala Constituency and district was curved out, health care was improved, accessibility of water in the rural parts, creation of new divisions, locations, sub locations, build new schools and fair distribution of bursaries across the constituency was felt,'' Duale said, Monday.
He further urged those who have been given the opportunity to lead at both the national and community level to organise and strategise the political future and the destiny of the people and country, with zeal.
Duale also serves as the National Assembly Majority Leader.
