Duale who spoke in Kisii when he accompanied Deputy President William Ruto to campaign for Jubilee said President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration will hand the NASA leaders a handsome pension after the ruling party has floored NASA leader Raila Odinga at the poll.
He said opposition leaders Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula have been in politics for long and their time to retire had come.
Raila, 71, is taking his fourth stab at the presidency and is optimistic—going by the support he enjoys in his stronghold—that he will win the August poll.
Duale and a section of Jubilee leaders have constantly told Raila to retire from politics because of his “advanced age”.
Duale, in January, came under criticism from opposition leaders and supporters after he referred to Raila as a “ghost worker”.
Raila then, hit back at him saying Duale should focus at helping the people of Garissa Township and stop meddling into his private affairs. He told him that he was not his age mate.
Duale was a key ally of Raila in 2007 before the two fell out after Raila parted ways with Deputy President William Ruto who had then been elected Eldoret North MP on an ODM ticket.
