National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has said that the Jubilee Party intends to lock out NASA from key counties as the election date nears.
According to Duale, who spoke to a local daily, this will ensure the opposition alliance does not attain the 25 percent required in majority counties to win an election.
We are happy with the progress of our campaigns so far. So far we have done close to 27 coounties and we are expecting to cover more in the coming days,” he says.
He added: “There are 46 days to the general election, and we want a peaceful election. We want to tell our competitors to ask for votes, and should not be a platform to sow seeds of discord and unity,”
The Jubilee Party has made over 200 rallies in a period of one month, as they sell their manifesto to the people.
According to the Garissa Township MP, the Jubilee Party intends to lock out NASA in key counties including Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, Tana River, Garissa and Isiolo, which form a good voting basket. ]
“The president will get over 700,000 votes in these counties,” he adds.
According to reports, the Jubilee Party intends to make trips to counties that it has coverd before, to consolidate its support and add more votes to their basket.
They intend to tour the western region again, the third time they will be visiting in a period of one month.
