In a Facebook post published on the legislator's official page on Friday, Duale said the president's resolution sends a good precedent as far as the country's war on terrorism is concerned.

"The President’s decision on Garissa University will send a loud message that Kenya will never succumb to the threats of terrorism," Duale said.

Garissa University College was among the institutions scheduled to receive their charter on Friday, among other eight new universities, but the President chose to personally deliver the charter at the university at a later date.
