Garissa Town MP Aden Duale has launched a scathing attack on Kenyan media terming it ‘corrupt and biased’ adding that it has ‘failed ‘to deliver its mandate.
The National Assembly Majority Leader further claims that opposition team has been a beneficiary of ‘negative’ media propaganda against the government.
His sentiments come few weeks after the government announced its intention to withdraw advisement from private media.
“I am surprised that the media claims government is corrupt. I may not dispute that because we also have few individuals who believe in looting,” he said in an interview with KTN on Wednesday.
“There is corruption in government but it is worse when it comes to media. You kill stories or put biased headlines after receiving bribes. Clean your house first,” he added.
While Duale believes government should take responsibility over rampant corruption, he however challenges all Kenyans to take active role in curbing the vice.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has been battling with corruption accusations with NYS scandal being projected the worst scandal since 2013.
