Speaking at Garissa Primary School playground during Garissa Governor Ali Korane’s inauguration, Duale said that he is happy with the new twist of events.
“Despite being the Majority leader in the National Assembly. I was like an orphan because the former governor was from Wiper. Today I stand here a very proud man. Thank you, residents of Garissa, for electing Korane, who will bring change,” Duale said, as quoted by Star.
Duale and Jama were at loggerheads for the past five years. The Garissa town MP has been accusing the outgoing governor for doing little to improve the lives of the residents since he took over the leadership of the region.
On his part, Korane said that he will improve the welfare of the residents during his reign. He promised to address different areas including water shortage and agriculture among others.
“The people of Garissa have suffered because of water crisis in the last four-and-half-years. This has affected all sectors of our economy,” he said.
