Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has made shocking revelations about the country's education system.
According to the outspoken lawmaker, Kenya's education system is discriminatory and unfair to students from remote parts of the country like his home county of Garissa.
''Let me tell you, education in this country is the most discriminative, it is the most unfair even without the issue happening in North Eastern. If you go to schools in the remote parts of Kenya and you subject those students to the same examination as those from Makini, with a child from Agha Khan, then that is what we call unequal and discriminatory education... The system is discriminatory because it is exam oriented,'' Duale said.
Hon. Duale was speaking this afternoon on a live television programme.
His words come in the wake of great debate on the transfer of teachers from North Eastern over insecurity.
He revealed that reforms would be rolled out soon to address the systemic issues plaguing the education sector.
