Garissa Township administrator and National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, has called upon Muslims to preserve their culture.

He was speaking today during the Firi Festival Business and Cultural expo at Eastleigh in Nairobi.

The vocal MP stated is important to protect family values through songs, poetry, dance, attires, and food.

He noted that the community needed to maintain only the cultural values that don’t offend the Islamic Religion.

“I urge the community to preserve the culture and heritage of a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture are like a tree without roots. It is important to protect family values songs, poetry, dance, attires, and food. We need to maintain only those cultural values that don’t offend the Islamic Religion,” stated Duale.

The Majority leader further urged the youth to deceit from engaging in drug and substance abuse. 

He further thanked the organizers of the event.

“Many thanks to the organizers, sponsors and area leaders led by Hon. Yusuf Hassan for organizing a great festival,” stated the Township MP.
