Aden Duale, the Garissa Township legislator has opened another new Islamic school famously known as madrasa Anis Ibn Malik at Bulla Hodan.
The school that is set to accommodate over 150 students is located at just metres away from Al Ibrahim integrated school.
During the madrasa launching event, Duale said the Township constituency had recorded massive development since he ascended to leadership in 2007 after the hotly contested general elections.
He revealed that he has been able to increase the number of secondary level madrasas from the four that only existed in 2007 to the present 38.
"I am happy with the progress I have made in boosting education in our constituency as a legislator. Currently we have over 38 madrasas offering secondary education as opposed to the only 4 that existed way back in 2007 when I took the mantle as the Garissa Township MP," he said.
While addressing the gathering, Duale exploited the opportunity to drum support for himself in the August polls, saying the region needed leaders with proven track record.
He specifically urged the residents to vote him for another term, saying he and President Kenyatta's Jubilee government had done much for the North Eastern region.
