Duale who has been cleared by the IEBC to defend his MP seat said Kenyans stand to benefit more under Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto’s leadership.
“I have enumerated to you what the Jubilee government has done in developing infrastructure including the SGR, roads, ports and airports, healthcare and energy expansion,” he said at a rally in Garissa town after being cleared by the electoral body.
He said since 2013, more health equipment had been procured and supplied in hospitals, 94 referral hospitals had been built, free maternity services were in place and there was more access to National Hospital Insurance Fund.
Besides, Duale said 600 Megawatts of power had been injected into the national grid, 3.5 million Kenyans connected to electricity and a 50 Megawatt power project constructed in Garissa. He said education through increased free education, capitation and free laptops to Class One pupils had also been implemented.
Duale said at no time has the country employed youth by absorbing them into the police service and the military more than now. Through this, he said the country had seen improved security.
He is vying for the Garissa Township MP seat against former Parliament Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim who is keen to send him into political oblivion for the next five years.
Maalim accuses Duale apportioning much of his time defending the Jubilee government instead of helping uplift the livelihood of Garissa residents.
