National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has launched a scathing attack on opposition leader Raila Amolo Odinga over the formation of the People’s Assembly.

According to Duale, the Former Prime Minister’s decision is ill-timed and ill-motivated. The Garissa MP said that Raila wants to use unconstitutional means to fight President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto after suffering humiliating defeat during the October 26th rerun.

“Odinga’s formation is not in the Constitution. What is found in the Constitution is the Houses Parliament, the National Assembly, Senate and the County Assemblies. Raila Odinga cannot introduce an assembly which is not anchored in the Constitution,” said Duale, as quoted by Capital FM.

The leader of the opposition had assured his supporters that he will not tire in the fight to liberate this nation from poor governance.

He argued that he will push his agenda through the people’s assembly after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) refused to heed to his demands.

Raila also said that the assembly will remain operational until an election is conducted in line with the laws of the country.

“The people’s assembly will continue to exist until a legitimate presidency is restored,” Odinga said.
