The National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale says he will petition Parliament to ensure the workers of Mombasa Export Processing Zone are rehired.
The Garissa Township MP says that he will introduce a motion to the National Assembly and he will do all that he can to ensure the Jubulee MPs pass the motion.
“I will introduce a motion to the Parliament to ensure that the sacked Mombasa Export Processing Zone workers are rehired and that Jubilee MPs will pass the motion,” said Duale.
This comes after the workers complained that they were sacked in January 2015 without any notice and that they were not paid their salaries.
However, they say their sacking resulted from the majority’s decision to form a union.
The workers who are sacked from EPZ are said to be more than 2,000.
