National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has resurfaced the International Criminal Court (ICC) debate by terming opposition leader Raila Odinga ‘father of ICC’.
On Tuesday, Odinga accused Jubilee government of allegedly planning to withdraw from the ICC following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jamhuri Day speech where he dismissed the court.
The President and his Deputy William Ruto were acquitted of crimes against humanity by the ICC following four years of waiting since 2011.
“Raila Odinga has confirmed to the world that he is indeed the father of ICC. He is the planner of the court and his intentions are to have our leaders locked to avoid competition,” he said.
“He must know that Kenyans are not that stupid. ICC cannot help him win presidency and that is a bitter fact which his lieutenants should tell him always,” he added.
In 2013 elections, ICC debate was among the key topical issues in the country as the Jubilee administration accused their opposition counterparts of being masterminds of Uhuruto cases at The Hague.
