National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has accused NASA leader Raila Odinga of erecting hurdles to frustrate the repeat presidential elections.
Duale said that the withdrawal of Raila and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka from the race was the climax of his schemes to try scuttle the polls.
"Raila has been on a mission to try and frustrate the October 26 fresh elections. No wonder he was not interested in campaigns," he said.
In an opinion piece published by The Standard, the Garissa Township MP said the NASA leader knows that he does not have numbers to deliver victory at the ballot, hence a plot to get power through the back door.
"He has spent his time conjuring a non-existent conspiracy to rig elections fuelled by his frustrations at the difficulty to cobble together a winning coalition," the lawmaker said.
Duale further maintained that the repeat election will be held as scheduled, warning NASA against trying to obstruct the polls.
"The elections will go on because the nation cannot be held hostage by one person. Kenyans should not continue to suffer because Raila does not want an election. They will choose their president on October 26," the lawmaker added.
