Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale has urged NASA to choose ODM’s Raila Odinga as its flag bearer. In an unexpected stand, the Garissa Township MP endorsed Raila saying he has experience, numbers and resources to face President Kenyatta.
The mostly anti-Raila legislature spoke while introducing debate on the president’s recent State of the Nation Address in parliament.
"I humbly ask, don't take us round, don't call too many press conferences, we know who among the pack is ahead," Duale said.
According to Duale, Raila is the best compared to former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, former deputy Prime Minister and Vice President Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula. He even mentioned some of the qualities that make Odinga the best NASA bet. He said that the former Prime Minister’s previous service to this nation gives him an upper hand over others.
"I have worked with him, he has the numbers, he has the resources, he has the think tank, he has been tested, he has been the Prime Minister, give it to Raila Odinga," he said.
The opposition is yet to name a flag bearer something that is threatening it's unity. Wiper, ANC and FORD-Kenya each is adamant that its party leader is the best.
