National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has slammed opposition chief Raila Odinga following his recent remarks on the Murang'a Water Project, where he warned of an environmental catastrophe if the project is fully undertaken without extensive feasibility study.
In an article published on the Sunday Standard, Duale defended the water project, saying due process and assessment was presided before the project's full implementation and execution.
"Feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments were duly done and the National Environment Management Authority gave the project a clean bill of health," he said.
"It is perplexing that Raila wants the world to believe he is the best environmental scientist this country has ever had," he added.
Odinga warned that the project would turn Garissa, Ukambani region, Murang'a and Northern Mathioya into a desert after the project's implementation.
