Duale said Raila’s recent utterances in Kajiado calling for the “eviction” of non-Maasai’s from Kajiado county were prove of his non-commitment in settling clashes associated with land ownership.

The Parliament’s Majority Leader said on his official Facebook page the time the former Kibera MP was in government and Parliament was enough for him to solve the land question.

His failure to put to rest the land query when he was in government and particularly prime minister shows his sloppiness in resolving the same.

Raila during his tour of Kajiado two weeks ago told members of the Maasai community to stop selling their ancestral land blaming the Jubilee government of orchestrating poverty among the pastoralists.

When President Uhuru Kenyatta and hid deputy William Ruto accused him of funning violence, the opposition chief defended himself saying there was nothing wrong telling Maasais to stop selling community land.

“When Moi was president, he told the Maasai not to sell land. When Uhuru recently toured Kiambu and issued title deeds, he told people there not to sell land. But when I tell the Maasai not to sell land, that becomes incitement,” Raila said.

He said Jubilee’s negligence in implementing the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission report shows government’s non-commitment in solving historical land injustices.

Duale said Raila had perfected the art of balkanizing the country along tribal lines which he said threatened the country’s stability.
