In her ruling, Justice Hedwig Ong'undi dismissed all the allegations put forth by the petitioner Farah Maalim and he (Maalim) slapped with a Kshs 6 million bill.

Taking to his official Twitter Handle, Duale celebrated the ruling citing that it is a victory for Garissa people who queued for long hours to elect a leader of their own choice.

The Mp further thanked God, his family, friends and his legal team led by Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi for standing by him throughout the whole Court process.

"Thanks to Allah for revealing the truth. I take this opportunity to thank my family, my able legal team led by @ahmednasirlaw and friends. This victory is for the people of Garissa Township who endured long queues to make sure they elected the leader of their choice," tweeted Duale.

Duale also reiterated Justice Ong'undi's words and termed Maalim's accusations as baseless allegations.

"No evidence to support the allegations put across by the petitioner since they were baseless, this is after a lengthy deliberation on the evidence presented before the court," added Duale.
