Garissa Township MP Aden Duale Friday evening presented himself at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters along Kiambu Road in Nairobi.
This follows an audio clip on social media, which is believed to be of his voice, inciting Kenyans of Kamba community to be evicted from the Constituency by locals, before the August 8, polls.
The National Assembly Leader of Majority appeared before CID detectives, to make a formal complaint over the audio clip, saying the voice in the clip was not his, and was recorded by a 'bygone' era politician with intentions to cook stories and stain his political career for selfish reasons and political propaganda.
The Jubilee lawmaker wanted detectives to immediately commence investigations into the incident, and ascertain the origin of the audio clip, the character's voice, where it was recorded, time and date and the youth who were being addressed.
"Am at the CID headquarters to make a formal complain about the fake audio propaganda clip going round on social media. The relevant authorities should investigate and get into the bottom of the matter in regard to who recorded the clip and the venue where it was recorded,'' he said.
In the clip, the alleged Duale is heard addressing youths and asking them to drive people from Kamba community from Garissa and prevent them from registering as voters in the Constituency.
