Duale says that the claims by some opposition leaders are out of order and malicious, saying the government has not in any way interfered or frustrated Ouko’s work.

“It is ridiculous for some opposition politicians to claim that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government is interfering with Ouko’s office,” he said during an interview on KTN on Sunday.

Duale intimated that Ouko’s office just like other constitutional and independent offices operates on its own.

“Ouko’s office just like others gets its own budgetary allocations and works independently. Ouko has every constitutional right to do his work as per the constitution and no one will or has interfered with his mandate as the auditor,” he added.

Duale stated that claims that Uhuru’s government has interfered with Ouko’s probe into Eurobond are false, revealing that no single Eurobond cent was looted as being claimed by opposition.

He defended the government saying that every cent of the Eurobond can be accounted for, and urged the opposition to stop politicizing graft and using it to gain political relevance.

Cord leader Raila Odinga has been alleging a plot by Uhuru’s government to frustrate the Auditor General’s work, claiming that the Jubilee government wants to get rid of Ouko in order to allegedly continue looting public money.
