Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has dismissed allegations by opposition leader Raila Odinga that Jubilee government was involved in massive corruption deals.
Duale said President Uhuru Kenyatta has done his best to fight graft in the country, saying Raila has formed the habit of accusing Jubilee administration of presiding over corruption, even when he has no evidence to support his claims.
“The corruption narrative Raila is attempting to hang on is a figment of his imagination and has fast disappeared,” Duale said during a press conference at Parliament Buildings.
The Majority Leader was responding to the former Prime Minister's accusations that President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were ruining the economy by incurring huge debts and watching as a few connected individuals loot public funds.
Duale also dismissed a report by Transparency International that ranked Kenya at position 145 out of 176 countries, saying the anti-corruption watchdog was working for Raila.
“The TI report he is talking about is the work of his ‘boys and girls. They are cheerleaders in writing fictitious reports about Kenya to get donor funding. We shall not be distracted by a few who sell their country for a song,” he said as quoted by The Standard.
