This follows US President Donald Trump's recent appointment of Illinois Senator Kyle McCarter to replace US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec,  who took office during former President Barrack Obama's tenure.

In a tweet Friday, Duale noted that the change will not affect the good relationship the two countries have enjoyed all along.

He said that the Kenyan government and her American counterpart will continue to collaborate in their developmental agenda aimed at bettering Kenyans' lives.

"Kenya will continue to work with the United States in initiating development projects aimed at uplifting the people's lives. We welcome the Senator," Duale said.

He hailed the union, observing that the nation has benefited largely under Godec's tenure, expressing hopes that McCarter's entrance will facilitate a continuation of the same.

"The relationship has seen Kenya benefit in numerous sectors, especially education, healthcare, agriculture, governance, security, trade, investment and other sectors," he added in a separate tweet.

Godec too has since welcomed his ouster but will continue holding the post until his successor's approval, in line to the American laws.
