According to Duale, Minority Chief Whip, Junet Mohamed owes him credit for requesting the Former Prime Minister, to back his candidature.

The lawmaker disclosed the details as he sought for Mohamed’s support motion on the elections of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) nominees."Congratulations. I campaigned for you and lucky enough you succeeded. I had to talk to 'Baba'," disclosed the Garissa Township MP, as quoted by a local daily. The revelations of the lawmaker come at a time when the appointment of opposition leaders to different committees has continued to face challenges. On Thursday, there was drama in parliament when National Assembly Minority leader John Mbadi was ordered to leave Parliament chambers for claiming that 'there is no President in Kenya'.“Mr. Speaker this motion presupposes and anticipates that there will be some appointments from, the president. Mr. Speaker the point is that there is no president in this country,” he said, as quoted by Citizen Digital. The statement did not augur well with Jubilee MPs.
