Adan Duale yesterday through his official Twitter handle revealed the new transport project in the county meant to transform the Garissa county's transport network system.
Part of the project would include the ongoing construction of 135km Nuno-Modogashe road which is expected to form a vital link between towns in the Kenya and Ethiopia borders.
"Ongoing construction of Nuno-Modogashe Road in the North Eastern region forms a vital link between Garissa, Isiolo, Wajir as well as Mandera town on the Kenya and Ethiopia border points." Duale revealed through his official twitter handle.
This comes days after honorable Aden Duale boosted education system in Garissa Special School for the Deaf. Garisa Special School for the deaf last week benefited from desks and assorted foodstuff to help in the running of the institution.
The upgrade of the transport network would include:
1.Upgrade of the 135km long existing road to bitumen standard into a two-way single carriageway.
2.Construction of reinforced concrete bridge-105 metre span.
3.Bus bays, road markings, road signs, guardrails, landscaping, and fencing.
The project which is to cost 8.4 billion will be funded by The government of Kenya, The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development(KFAED), Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa(ABEDA), Opec Fund for International Development(OFID), Saudi Development Fund(SDF) and Abu Dhabi Fund.
