National Assembly Majority leader has revealed Jubilee plan towards NASA’s weekly anti-IEBC protests.
According to Duale, NASA had planned to organize protests that would lead into chaos hence gaining access to government.
In an article in the Standard, Duale said that Jubilee’s planned election amendments caught NASA unaware as it was the only way to kill the plan.
“But it appears like NASA has an ulterior motive with the demos in the guise of fighting for reforms in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The script seems quite clear; call for constant demos during which property and businesses are destroyed and looted, businesses close shop in fear and investors shy away, shut the economy in the end and force the Government into giving in to their demands,” said Dulae.
“But Jubilee is quite aware of the script and has countered it in a way that caught the Opposition unawares. NASA never expected the ruling party to come up with amendments to the electoral laws and its plot is crumbling as they watch,” he added.
NASA opposed the proposed changes stating that unless the bill before parliament, the demands to have top IEBC officials resign will remain in place.
