House Majority leader Aden Duale has said Nairobi Governor MikeSonko should withdraw the appointment of lawyer Miguna Miguna as his deputy.
According to Duale, the party had already instructed Sonko to consider withdrawing the nomination.
"We have told him that he should consult the party leader (President Uhuru) before forwarding any appointee to the County Assembly for vetting," Duale is quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
He further indicated that Sonko was wrong in nominating Miguna given that he is not a Jubilee Party member.
Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja was among the first Jubilee leaders to oppose Miguna'snomination.
"Miguna will not become the Deputy Governor of Nairobi. Take that to the bank," he had said.
Sonko defended his move to nominate Miguna stating that the Canada based lawyer meets the legal requirements to occupy the post.
