National Majority Leader Aden Duale has said that MPs aligned to National Super Alliance (NASA) have been making technical appearances during a parliamentary session in a bid to protect their posts while lying to the public about boycotts.

According to Daily Nation, Duale, also Garissa MP said that several of the lawmakers backing the Presidency of Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga have been appearing in Parliament just to sign and leave.

This is contrary to their earlier stand that they will boycott all parliamentary sessions as they push for reforms in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the rerun.

“They troop in just to sign the attendance register and leave. It is a confirmation they are attending the House, contrary to the directive issued by their leader Raila Odinga,” he said, as quoted by the Local Daily.

In the meantime, Raila, who is taking a fourth stab at the nation’s top seat, has said that he will not take part in the election unless he is assured of a free and fair exercise.

The sentiments of the opposition leader come after he announced his withdrawal from the Presidential race citing lack of confidence in the electoral commission (IEBC).
