Majority Leader Aden Duale has revealed that all NYS scandal suspects will face the full wrath of the law.
Speaking on Tuesday at Parliament buildings, Duale said investigative agencies must act urgently and culprits brought to book to face the laws.
“The investigative authorities established under the constitution have the mandate to have those implicated in the graft face justice in court. I can confidently say Parliament will always support this cause,” he said.
Duale said that all suspects will be held accountable for their actions hence to serve as examples preventing any future fraud in different government institutions.
"What we are simply saying as parliamentarians is that someone has to be accountable for their actions. If we do not seriously crack on this fraud, another major will explode somewhere and thus these individuals must serve as an example," he said.
Duale further said the individuals have no regard for taxpayers money and maybe looting thinking this time they will go unnoticed.
"It is a clear indication that the individuals implicated have no regards for taxpayers money or they deliberately did it because they knew at the end of it they will have their way, for now, they will face the laws," Duale said.
More than 20 of the suspects arrested over the scam have been arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts.
Key suspects include Youth and Gender Principal Secretary Lillian Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai.
