Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has downplayed claims that Kalonzo Musyoka’s return from Germany will re-energize NASA leader Raila Odinga’s s push to be sworn in as president.
Duale claims that Kalonzo’s return adds no value to the planned illegal swearing in, stating that NASA is engaging in loosing battles.
Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town Thursday, Duale said that Raila’s swearing in remains irrelevant and will not prevent President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government from discharging its mandate.
He said that NASA is looking for ways of remaining relevant after losing twice in the presidential election.
The leader of majority in the National Assembly said that Kalonzo returns will further complicate Raila as the former Vice President is against the illegal oath.“NASA should stop creating political anxiety and instead accept and let the country move on,” he said.Duale said that the government will not entertain NASA’s unconstitutional politics in 2018.The Garissa Township MP asked Kalonzo to advise NASA politicians against the swearing-in push stating that it remains illegal and treasonous.The MP said that Jubilee government will not be intimidated and cowardice by NASA unconstitutional tactics.He urged Kenyans to stand firm and protect the constitution that he claimed the opposition wants to reap it apart.Kalonzo returned from Germany on Wednesday where he has been close to three months. The return of the Wiper Party leader has been taunted as a boost to the push for Raila’s swearing-in.On Thursday, Kalonzo rubbished claims that he is opposing Raila’s swearing-in. The Wiper leader asked Uhuru’s government to initiate electoral reforms dialogue failure to which he will be sworn in alongside Raila.NASA says that plans to swear in Raila are complete and the exercise scheduled for early next year. The government, however, maintains that the planned exercise is illegal and treasonous.
